On Friday, I began to catch up on some of the Parisian sites necessarily omitted from last August’s itinerary. First stop was Sainte-Chapelle, the remnant-chapel of a now demolished castle. King Louis IX built it to contain the souvenirs he brought back from the Crusades (hence “Sainte-Chapelle,” which, if you believe Babelfish, means “Holy Vault”). First and foremost of these treasures was a relic they believed to be Jesus’ crown of thorns. When the French Revolution threatened their keepsakes, the church officials moved them a few hundred yards from the royal church to Notre Dame, where they remain. Now, as then, the chapel is renowned for its awe-inspiring walls of stained glass. Gothic architecture is usually known for its massive elements (columns, arches and vaulted ceilings), but here Gothic has become delicate. Exterior buttresses hold up the roof, so the walls are liberated from that heft. Louis’ architect filled them with stained glass. The windows contain over 1000 panels telling stories from the Bible, and culminating in the story of how the relics held here were brought to France. Hey Guys & Girls, here’s part two of the Lanvin for H&M Accessories haul / Un-boxing. Sorry for the bad quality, it was supposed to be in HD but I guess I messed it up. Here you will see the Lanvin for H&M Floral print handbag. It can be used as a clutch bag with the chain tucked in or you can remove the chain and wear it over your shoulder. The chain has a purple grosgrain ribbon intertwined and tied into a bow at the top. Sorry couldn’t show you this as I didn’t want to spoil the wrapping. This is a gift so it has to be new for the recipient. Next you’ll see the large Chandelier Drop Necklace in Pink. It has a grosgrain ribbon tie and the ribbon is quite long so you can wear this necklace long or short as a choker-style. You can even wear it as a belt around your waist. At first i thought the necklace was like plastic and cheap but when I took it out of the box and held it, it’s quite heavy and shiny. A real statement piece that will make all heads turn!
